dc = double crochet (US), treble crochet (UK)
bob = bobble (see special stitch instructions)

Special stitch instructions:
3 dc bob: bobble stitch for feet. Work first part of dc 3 times into 1 sc,
leaving 4 loops on hook, pull through all 4.
Luke is made in rounds from the top of the head dow n, with arms
made separately. Do not join rounds unless told to, use a stitch
marker to mark the start of a round - a small piece of different
coloured yarn placed under the stitch at the start of the round will do.
To start a round, you can use the magic ring method , but I prefer
(ch2, work 6 sc into 1
st ch). If you work the 6 sc over the tail of yarn
as well you can use that to pull the hole tight.
When changing from one colour of yarn to another wo rk the sc before
the change until there are two loops left on the ho ok. Then use the
new colour for the final yarn over hook and pull th rough. Work a few
sc over the tails of the end of the old yarn and th e start of the new
yarn to secure them. For the head, where there are several colour
changes for the face and hair, carry the colour you are not using
behind your work so that the colour does not show t hrough, but be
careful not to pull the yarn too tight or it will a ffect the shape of the
head.
Work through both loops of stitches unless otherwis e indicated.

Pull the yarn up tightly to make sure the base lies flat. To define the
legs pass the yarn through the body to the same pos ition at the middle

round lower, and again pull tightly. Continue to do this, working down
the legs round by round, until you reach the base o f the figure. Take
